Solveig Eggerz, a native of Iceland, is the author of historical fiction novels, Seal Woman and Sigga of Reykjavik, both of which feature strong female protagonists and are set in Iceland. She teaches memoir and personal stories through the Writer’s Center in Bethesda, MD, and in detention centers in Northern Virginia through the Alexandria, VA non-profit Heard, which brings the arts to underserved populations. Solveig grew up in four different countries. She speaks Icelandic and German and has been struggling with Italian for 15 years. She writes in English. Currently finishing a memoir, she holds a PhD in comparative literature from Catholic University.
